 The historic Thunder Bay Inn is located in the small village of Big Bay, approximately 25 miles north of Marquette, in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The area abounds with spectacular scenery, miles of forest trails, numerous waterfalls, the Lake Superior shoreline, lazy trout streams, and the Huron Mountains all offering the outdoor enthusiast a myriad of possibilities in all seasons.

 The Thunder Bay Inn offers you a friendly restaurant-pub with excellent fare in a relaxed atmosphere. We feature pizzas, steak, delicious homemade soups and fresh whitefish as well as an extensive sandwich menu.
 

 The Juniper Shop at the Thunder Bay Inn is located in the former payroll office of the Brunswick Mill company.
 Here you can choose from our eclectic display of treasures from the northwoods. Both local and regional artisans' works are available, blended with other items that showcase the Upper Great Lakes area.

 The historic Thunder Bay Inn was built in 1910 by the lumber barons of yesteryear. It was originally used as a warehouse, general store, office and barber shop for the lumber companies that were the mainstay of the economy in the Upper Peninsula at the turn of the century.

 Come stay at the Inn, unwind on the balcony overlooking the Henry Ford Sawmill on beautiful Lake Independence. Let the cool evening breezes relax you.

The Thunder Bay Inn is available for special parties, weddings and dinners. We can personalize your special occasion. Full conference and seminar facilities are available.
