| We would like to thank all of private land owners that allow us to be guest on there land. With out thire generosity the trail system we take for granted would not be possible. Remember this a privilege not a right. Stay on the trail, and do not litter. We would put the names of these fine folks on this page but to respect there privacy we just give them a hardy THANKS. Many miles of our trail system is on Corporate Timber Land. The Timber Companies are one of the backbones of the economy for the UP, and are great help to our club in helping us maintain our trail system. They keep us informed on there lumbering activities so we can plan ways keep the trails running smoothy. If we have to share parts of our trail system with them there will be signs posted. When this occurs please ride with extreme care and keep your speed down. At times folks will trailer there sleds up to parts of our trail system, usually early or late in the season when the snow is poor in lower parts of the trail. When you have to do this please park off the road so the companies can get there trucks and equipment passed you. Wile riding you may see what looks like a open field that would be a great place to do some powder riding (DON’T). After a harvest these clear cuts are replanted. What looks like just a big open field will have newly plated trees that are just under the snow, raiding over these will do great damage to the replants. Also many of these clear cut still have stumps that could do great harm to you and your sled. We would like to give a big thanks to the following Companies : Longyear Realty Corp., Mead Corp. CFA., Champion Int’l Corp., Keweenaw Land, Shelter Bay Pinship.. |
